Fortaleza and Flamengo will take to the field this Tuesday (11/26) at 8pm at Arena Castelão, for the 35th round of the Brazilian Championship, in a match of extreme importance for both in the title race. Victory is essential for the teams to remain in contention for the lead, and the game also marks the meeting between the coaches Filipe Luís, the newcomer in charge of Flamengo, and Vojvod, the most experienced commander at Fortaleza. Currently, Fortaleza is in fourth place with 64 points, and with a win, they will reduce the gap to the leaders Palmeiras and Botafogo, who have 70 points, to just three. Meanwhile, Flamengo, with 62 points and in fifth place, needs the triumph to come within five points of the leaders and keep their title hopes alive. If they lose, the Rio team will be eight points behind the leaders, practically ruling out any chance of becoming champions, with only nine points left to play for. The expectation is for a full house at Castelão, with tickets for the Fortaleza fans already sold out, as announced by the club on their social media this Monday (11/25). The atmosphere will be tense and supportive, as supporters believe in the chance for the team to secure the three points.
In Flamengo, coach Filipe Luís will not be able to count on two important players for the game: defender Fabrício Bruno and midfielder Everton Araújo, both suspended. On the other hand, the coach can count on the returns of several athletes, including Gabigol, who returns after missing two games, as well as Gerson, Léo Ortiz, Gonzalo Plata, and Varela, who also missed the victory over Cuiabá due to the FIFA Date. Flamengo is expected to take to the field with: Rossi; Wesley, Léo Ortiz, Léo Pereira and Alex Sandro; Erick Pulgar, De La Cruz, Alcaraz (Michael) and Gerson; Bruno Henrique and Gabigol. Coach Filipe Luís is counting on the return of his key players to try to secure the victory and remain in contention for the Brazilian Championship title.
